Stand In E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart

Mark Hentrich operates “Good Doggy Hot Dogs” in Michigan. He built his E-Z Built as an enclosed model for under $1000.He used hollow core doors (genius!) to create the “house” and then outfitted the interior with steamers, sinks, water heater, etc exactly as shown in our video and plans package. Mark sent us a video of his enclosed E-Z Built Hot Dog Cart. Watch it below.

    1. Hi John, Mark modified the E-Z Built plans to come up with his stand in cart. Watch the videos first to get an idea of how the basic design works and how the components are built. After you do this, you will have a solid grasp of the building process which makes it easy to modify and customize the basic plans any way that you like. Mark simply built the trailer frame kit, added flooring, then constructed a “house” out of hollow core doors. After the “house” was built, he used the E-Z Built videos to construct the equipment (steam tables, tanks, plumbing, etc.) inside the trailer. I hope this helps!

  1. Stevei have 2 questions

    1) what would be a good price point for a dog. I will not be charging extra if they want onions and kraut, ect..(unless you recomend extra charges) Is there a certain profit percentage I should use. I WILL ONLY BE SELLING Sabretts which I know are a little more expensive

    2) Do you know of a brand that Mimics Sabrettes. The unmistakeable way the skin kind of snaps when you bite into a Sabrett, and as you probably know they seem to be a little slimmer and longer than most brands. But that crispy snap when you bite into one is especially what I would want.

    1. Hi Joe,

I wouldn’t sell a quality hot dog like a Sabrett for less than $3. You could probably get more with “signature” dogs (create a topping combination and name it). Any natural casing dog will snap. It’s the skinless ones that don’t. Good luck!
