Hi Tom,
The fresh water tank can sit on the floor inside the cart body. If you go that route, be sure to mount the pump to the floor also. It needs to be near the bottom of the tank so it wont’ have to fight gravity to pull the water up and out of the tank.
Always check with your local health department before starting construction. Surprises like this can be very frustrating if you don’t plan for it ahead of time. Thanks Charles.
Im stumped. You said the waste tank must be 15% larger, but you are using a 6 gal fresh water and a 7 Gallon waste water. Even if i use a 5 gal fresh water , the waste tank should be 7.5 gal, and on a 6 gallon fresh water, the waste would be 9 gal.
Can i use 2 smaller waste water tanks ? if so how would i hook them up
I’m sorry, I was thinking 15 x 5 is 7.5. But its actually 5.75. I was going crazy looking for a 7 1/2 or a 9 gallon tank for a 6 gallon fresh tank. But the 7 gallon is still big enough for either. I must have cut school that day. LOL
Just wondering why you cut holes in the bottom of the cart for the tie down straps and don’t run them under the platform, since it’s screwed down anyway?
A full 7 gallon waste water tank weighs almost 60 pounds. When you hit a bump at highway speeds, that’s enough upward force to cause the platform to pull out. Passing the straps under the cart body itself takes the force off of the platform.
I cannot be around bleach or Clorox, very allergic to even the smell. What are alternatives for tanks and cleaning buckets? At home we use natural cleaners, can they be used on carts? I will ask our health inspector, but was wondering if anyone here had suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
In Illinois, waste water must be 50% larger.. FYI
Thanks for the info David. Good to know.
Steve..
Sorry I ask a lot of questions… Do the water tanks ever need cleaning ? Or required to be more accessible ?
You can shock the tanks with a chlorine bleach solution to clean them when necessary. No need to remove them.
Steve, Does the water tank have to be up above or will the water pump be able to pump it if it is down low. Thanks again!

A heads up for KY builders, Kentucky requires a waste water tank twice the size of the fresh water tank.

A 7 gallon tank is 15% larger than a 6 gallon tank.
6 gal X 1.15 = 6.9 gallons

LOL. No worries Joe!

That makes total sense,thanks Steve!

Alcohol works as well.
