Welcome to “A Day at the Hot Dog Cart”. This video training course features Dale, owner of Lucky Dawg in Reno, Nevada and one of the three E-Z Built Hot Dog Carts that he built using the plans and videos in the HDP Premium Membership. As an HDP Premium Member, you have access to these plans and construction videos. I know that some of you don’t want to build your own cart – and that’s fine. But I highly recommend you at least watch a few of the construction videos to see how easy it really is. You just might change your mind!
Even though this video series was shot using E-Z Built Hot Dog Carts, it is just as useful for owners of any kind of mobile food cart. The layout of your cart may be different, but the principles are the same. So no matter what cart you use in your business, this video training course will serve you well.
VIDEOS: Part 1 – Before You Head Out
Introduction to the Hot Dog Cart
Tow Vehicle Loaded Ready to Go
Hitching the Cart to the Tow Vehicle
Do a Final Walk Around Before Leaving
Watch Your Front Wheel Clearance
On the issue of front wheel clearance, I was wondering if you could use a swing back trailer jack. They are not expensive and the have a swiveling wheel. I haven’t started to build my cart yet as I’m still reading through all of the course materials.
Thanks
Richard
Absolutely, if you have room for it on the trailer tongue.
Do these carts need to be registered and plated?
Yes.
Some states sell a lifetime trailer license plate. I got one for my boat trailer in 2002 and it was $75. Don’t know what they cost now and in other states.
Lifetime plate in Michigan too which is nice because you have to pay yearly if it’s a driveable vehicle (food TRUCK)
